Community Ideas and Resources

Goals

Form a leadership team who can communicate and develop ideas to generate community.
Touch base in some capacity, with as many parishioners as possible every week.

Resources and Ideas

Community efforts take the effort of the community. Host your bible studies online. Start faith sharing groups online. Start a book club, people have more time to read than ever.

Get online! Even if you aren't streaming Mass consider a weekly live rosary with your parish. At that time, encourage parishioners to lift each other up in prayer by having them comment with their intentions.

If you are hosting Mass online encourage your parish community to send a photo of their family celebrating together.

Encourage parishioners to form a committee to shop for and help the home-bound of the parish.

Ask parishioners to make sure their contact information is current, because of critical information that is being disseminated.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois launched a new community service April 13th called the "Catholic Charities COPE Line" for people who are experiencing situational stress and anxiety related to the Coronavirus Outbreak, the nonprofit agency announced today.
